About Us.

We are Ronald and Julie van Doornik with a family of 4 children. My husband was born here in Zeeland in Middelburg, and I am English. We live in a beautiful part of Holland which is surrounded by lovely beaches and coastal walks. In Zeeland there are lots of farmland and open areas which make it pleasureable to bike with our children and dogs. We have 4 Gos d’Atura’s. In the past we have had most experience with German shepherds and dogs have always been a part of our family life.

In 2005 we decided it was time once again for our family to acquire a dog, and in October 2006 we brought Ticho Merza and Xena de Villa Magala into our family. A blonde girl for me and a dark male for my husband…Perfect !! Later on we decided to breed these two and from the litter of pups born we kept a beautiful female and really our first dog that carries our kennelname of De Bellagosca.

On 29-01 2009 we had our first healthy litter of 7 puppies and an addition to our family with the birth of Diva.

On 01-12-2010 our second litter of 5 pups were born. From this litter we kept another beautiful female / Pastora.

We are members of Holland , Belgium,  France and the Spanish club for the Gos dÁtura. We always advise people to join clubs because events such as walks, hikes and many other activities are organised where people can get together.  The clubs publish magazines that are very informative. Always nice and educational to see and read about other gosses, and meet new people and make friends.

We are always proud to show our dogs and represent Gos d’Atura at home in Holland and in as many other countries as possible: always trying to seek out the judges that specialise and who are knowledgeable about this unique breed.  As we travel to shows, expositions and some of the events which are held by the Gos d'Atura clubs ,we take much enjoyment and hope that we play a small part in the promotion of this breed. Apart from the expositions our dogs are trained in agility, obedience and sheep herding.

For us there should be no distinction between Gos d'Atura in shows and Gosses that are working and herding. The difference is what people put in their minds. To train, work and herd with the dogs means that when they are in show you are representing this breed in a positive light with a dog that has balance in his life. The dogs are not judged on looks alone but in show his temperament, character and ability to follow and listen to his owner is tested. A mentally stimulated dog that has many activities makes a beautiful show dog. There are people that just work with their dogs and people that just show,  but in reality there is only One Gos d'Atura and one breed standard.

Our passion for dogs and travel have been beautifully combined. We have visited countries and ended up in lovely locations because of them. If it was not for the dogs I doubt very much we would have visited the Pyrenees in France and Spain and along the way finding some great hotels that are truely 'dog friendly'.

We have had some great judges and met people who were integral in bringing this breed into recognition from the beginning.

With the geat advice and encouragement that came to us we thank you all....You know who you are !!!!!
